Andy completes test in Oreca 01 LMP1 Car - 2010-03-11

Andy Meyrick completed an evaluation test in the Oreca LMP1 car during the Le Mans series official test days at Paul Ricard HTTT in the south of France last Sunday and Monday 7th and 8th of March.

The car ran in a black livery in memory of Hiro Kaneda the Japanese Engineer who recently passed away was responsible for the AIM engine program.

Testing alongside regular Oreca driver Soheil Ayari and Le Mans regular Didier Andre, Andy drove the car briefly on Sunday afternoon to acclimatise himself with the systems and feel of the car before completing three outings in the car on Monday setting highly competitive times during his time in the car.

Oreca have yet to finalise their driver line up and plans for the Oreca 01 chassis in 2010 and have also recently switched to Dunlop Tyres.

\"The car is very impressive, as you can see from the times it has been quickest in every session here this weekend, my runs where all on a higher fuel load and with used tyres to simulate race stints and in these it was very consistent and nice to drive there is certainly a lot of potential in this package\" Andy Commented following the test.

Andy is travelling to the USA later this week to prepare for his first race of the season in the Dyson Lola Mazda at the Sebring 12 Hours on March the 20th.
