Andy Meyrick Racing

Meyrick on track and on line - 2009-07-14

Andy Meyrick might be in the middle of a break between events in the Le Mans Series, but the MSA Race Elite driver is making the most of his spare time.  Having stormed to victory in a Historic F2 race at Brands Hatch last weekend, Meyrick has also set up a Facebook and Twitter account to allow race goers to follow his progress in the prestigious Le Mans Series.

Having topped the timesheets in qualifying in his F2 car at Brands Hatch last weekend, Meyrick dominated the first race of the weekend at Brands Hatch, taking a well deserved victory when the race was stopped early due to a crash by Paul Allen.  Chances of a second consecutive victory were lost early on Sunday however, after a technical fault saw Meyrick pushed off the grid.

Keen to keep racer goers up to date with his progress in F2 and of course in the LMS, Meyrick has – finally many would say (!) – embraced modern technology with a Facebook and Twitter account.  Fans and motorsport enthusiasts can now follow his progress by searching for \'Andrew Meyrick\' on Facebook and \'AndyMeyrick\' on Twitter.

\"There are some quite big gaps between the Le Mans Series races\", said Meyrick \"but I\'m making good use of the time; training hard and keeping my racing up with some Historic F2 races.  It\'s a far cry from the Audi R10 TDi I normally drive, but all racing is good experience.

\"With Facebook and Twitter I can now update people with my progress.  Although the race weekends are extremely busy and my focus is obviously on racing, I\'m hoping to give race fans some real insight into being a driver in the Le Mans Series.\"

Meyrick will be back behind the wheel of his Audi R10 TDi for the Portimao round of the LMS from 31 July – 2 August.
